Collegiate Storytellers’ Unique Approach

Our Approach

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, wins and losses.
How you handle that journey and what you learn becomes

Your College Admissions Story

What fascinates you, excites you, makes you endlessly curious?
How do you seek to better yourself, your community, and the world around you? What are you doing to make a difference, and what do you, specifically, have to offer?

At Collegiate Storytellers, we start at the beginning, asking questions to get to know you. Who are you at your core? What are you genuinely interested in and curious about? How do you choose to spend your time?

We don’t believe in reverse engineering anything. We don’t need to.
By starting early, we help students define their innate interests, distribute their time efficiently, and develop their passions organically to tell a holistic story for college admissions officers.

This slow but steady pace will eventually check all the boxes for a comprehensive application process that will feel less like applying to college and more like presenting the real you under the most brilliant light to find the college match of your dreams.

Meet Our Founder

Natalie Mashaal

Chief Education Officer

Natalie Mashaal has been telling stories her entire life. As a former television producer, Natalie worked on many high-profile, nationally syndicated daytime shows, including “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” providing a platform for people to tell their stories.

Natalie then founded and served as CEO for Kingfish Production, a bi-coastal television production and development company that specializes in non-scripted storytelling. Ten years later, in order to manage her time as a mother, she pivoted to higher education where she taught college courses in business, public speaking and communications. Most recently she guest lectured at Harvard University where she is finishing her master’s degree in Creative Writing and Literature, and from which she holds a teaching certificate in Higher Education. Natalie is also completing her certificate in college counseling from UCLA.

Natalie has four children with whom she has taken the college admissions journey (UMichigan, UTexas at Austin McCombs School of Business, one awaiting a decision, and a potential athletic recruit!). Natalie also holds an MS in Executive Management and a
BA in Communications.
